Children today are spending more time in front of screens and spending less time in nature. In this film, biologist Kendra Buresch, sets out to change that by fostering students’ connection with nature through the “Habitat Patch” program. This nature based curriculum is designed to foster a deeper relationship and understanding for the local ecology. We visit Kendra and the students at the Chilmark School and follow them as they learn the importance of native habitats to the local ecology and participate in a habitat restoration project with The Nature Conservancy and the Polly Hill Arboretum.
